Not Yet Released

Soon it will be on shelves and available online – I already pre-ordered a copy for myself! I’m fortunate enough to once again be getting published – this time in a book by Vik Orenstein. The title of her new book is:

The Photographer’s Market Guide to Building Your Photography Business (Photographers Market Guide to Building) .

Yes, it’s a mouthful for a title!

And, a big thank you to Vik for believing in me and for using two of my images in her book. I can’t wait to get my hands on the real thing. For now – if you peek at the previews that are on Amazon, you can see page 5 which is one of my pictures of sweet Baby Carly!!

Baby Carly is just about to become a big sister! In fact, I will be seeing her family tomorrow to take maternity pictures of Mom with big sister and Daddy too! I can’t wait!!!

Here are just a couple candid shots, and Naomi’s newborn session is this Saturday! I CANNOT wait to get her in the studio!!!! So much fun to be had!!

Happy 2010!

Waiting for Baby Mia – proud parents to be Scott and Rachel!
Waiting for Naomi – proud parents Bill and Melodie!! CONGRATULATIONS!

We are so blessed to have such special friends and loved ones in our lives, and to get to watch our children grow up together.

Holiday Fun

Happy Holiday Time!!!!

It’s COLD in Frisco, TX. It’s actually feeling like the holidays now, but BRRRRRR! We Texas types are not made for this kind of chill. Little Miss L was shivering, but still such a trooper! I’m so blessed to be part of this family’s life and getting to watch and help write their story. They’re beautiful, fun loving and so special! I just can’t get enough of them! And, when sweet Little Miss L is willing to greet her photographer with a kiss – well, you know, life doesn’t get much better than that!!!
Love you guys!!! More to come!!
But tonight, BRRRRRR again – I’m off to Merry Main Street to watch Miss K (my baby girl 10.5) and her school choir perform. Then out to dinner with good friends!!!
Life is busy. Life is good!

Happy Thanksgiving

I’m thankful for many things – cooperative kids and a tripod are near the top of my list for this shot in particular! I’m grateful for my family, my friends, my animals, the yummy food we put in our tummies – and for my hubby who cooked most all of it – he did NOT marry me for my culinary skills.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!

Itty Bits and Pieces

Sneak peek of Baby B…

This little guy is just five weeks old, and I can’t get enough of all his sweet little bits and pieces!!! Just wait until you get to see his eyes, and his adorable Big Brother!

More to come…

Fall Foursome

Anyone who knows me probably knows I’m a sucker for sentiment, tradition and making sure I chronicle my children’s lives. The shot above is an annual tradition – I took a similar shot of these four in the grass during the fall of 2005 for my first online photo class with Jeff Wignall.

One of the most special relationships we have in our family is that of our next door neighbor’s and close friends. When we moved into our house, they were still in the process of building theirs. The girls met when they were 2, closing in on three years old. KB and I were both pregnant at the time with our boys. The boys have literally known each other since birth and are the very best of friends. In fact, my son is busily eating them out of house and home right at this very moment. Pretty soon, they might start asking me to chip in on the grocery bills.

The girls are much like sisters it seems. They love each other, will hopefully always look out for each other, and yet they can drive each other nuts.
My life and the lives of my children are so much richer for this true and lasting friendship. I love all four of these babies like they are my own! It’s my hope they will stay close and treasure the friendships all their lives.

6 Months Already

Just a quick sneak peek at sweet little Natalie! She’s so adorably cute and full of smiles – it was hard not to just scoop her up and love on her rather than take her pictures. It’s babies like her that make think I need another one, then I remember diapers and say, oh yes, I think I’ll leave the hard part of the job to others. Meanwhile, I will just enjoy cooing at them, playing with them and taking pictures of their scrumptious little mugs!!

I will say though, it does break my heart that my “babies” aren’t this little and cuddly anymore.
Big Smiles!!!
