Michelle Frick

I'm a published, award winning photographer, and I'd love to work with YOU! I’ve always loved photography. As a child who moved frequently, images were my way to hold onto treasured memories of people and places that I had to leave behind. Pictures meant a lot to me growing up, but now, as a mother, images really mean the world to me. I have learned, through watching my children grow and change, that every moment is special, and each chapter in a child’s life is fleeting. Do not blink, or you might just miss something! I enjoy working with friends and families to help them create special images. I love taking part in the process of compiling family histories. My style involves building a rapport with my clients to coax out real moments and emotions. Classic portraits are a wonderful thing, and I will work to get you some of each style. On a personal level though, I adore the images that allow people’s true selves to shine through. "A smile is a curve that sets everything straight." ~Phyllis Diller

COMING SOON!

Jeff Wignall’s The NEW Joy of Digital Photography will be published later this year. For a sneak peek, at least at the cover, check out…This is a huge deal for me. I feel like I’ve come full circle by being included in this book.

When I bought my first Digital SLR, the book I bought along with it was Jeff’s, Joy of Digital Photography. Well, that book led me to www.betterphoto.com and to a class that was then taught by Jeff (by the same name as the book). He was/is an incredible teacher/mentor and friend. His guidance and support helped give me the courage to go forward with my career as a portrait photographer. So, now to have three of my images included in his revised version of the book is a HUGE honor for me. It’s the fourth book to be published including some of my images, but it’s also the one that will likely bring the biggest smile to my face!
Oh, and also, my little man finally made it into a book! Miss K has been in two of the four already (and her back makes an appearance in this one too!). This will be Evan’s first published (in a book at least) image. Of course, Kate still has a firm grip on her lead, but…at least the little man is finally getting included too! As a proud Mommy – it’s nice to have both of your kidlets included.
Speaking of which, in the last book I was included in by Vik Orenstein, Baby Carly was in the book on page 5. And, now, in Jeff’s book, Carly’s baby brother Cooper makes his first appearance in a book! So, another proud Mama gets both of her kids in books too! I just can’t wait to hold the finished product in my hands! Looks like I’ll have to wait until later this year. No worries though, I will let you know when it hits the shelves!!!
Smiles to all!!!

Annual Cousins’ Pics

This is one tricky crew – let’s see…a nearly 4 year old, twin 2.5 year olds, a one year old, and a four month old! And, you want to know what’s really funny – the four month old was watching me – it was the others that got tricky. Mind you – that’s not always the case. I had a blast – but boy, it sure will be nice when they are all old enough to bribe a bit. That’s right, you heard it here first, I am NOT above bribery to get the shots I want! They are all so adorable and so full of personality! Jake and Lauren are my easy ones now (they like to play and pose for me – most of the time). Michael – well, he’s a bit like his Daddy – so, if he’s in the mood – great, but it’s all about getting him to play along. And, Denny is pretty used to me, but with all the other activity, it was a bit too exciting. And, Ryan, well, luckily – he didn’t go anywhere on us, but I think we wore out his patience with us by the end! Here are just a few quick ones for a sneak peek! More to come!!!

Oh my – one thing completed! Baby Cooper (and Carly too!)

“Hugs and Love for Mama” edited with a vintage flair…Cooper’s going to have fun pulling Sissy’s hair – and look how well Carly is putting up with it!
I think Carly is as amazed as I am that I finally finished these edits! So much to edit…so little time!

Every have times when you think you may NEVER catch up again. Well, that’s how I feel lately. I’m so thankful for the patience of my fabulous clients. I actually managed to finish one entire session today! Baby Cooper’s 3 month pictures are officially all in his gallery and ready for proofing!! Go for it Abby – I hope you find tons you love. Cooper and Carly are certainly two of the cutest things on this planet! You and Bobby make a good team!

ENJOY! I’m going to sleep now – and tomorrow – more edits!!!

Baby Natalie at One Year

Blink…blink…blink…and there goes the first year!!! Congratulations sweet Baby Natalie on a very Happy First Birthday! And, thank you for making my job so easy on Saturday by being so full of smiles and delight!!!

Enjoy your sneak peek! More to come in her gallery soon! I’m a bit overwhelmed, but as soon as I get tomorrow’s event done, I am cordoning myself off and doing nothing but editing for the rest of the week!!!
Thank you for allowing me to watch Natalie grow – it’s been such an honor!

Ballet Recital for Miss Madcap

Beautiful Madison had her first ballet recital today and she looked so stunning!! Our little girls are growing up (and frankly I’m not sure I like that!). Madison and my Katiebug have been classmates since 1st grade. This year, the schools were split (new school opened), but they’ll be reunited next year in middle school.

Cheers to Madcap! I’m sure you were brilliant in your performance – you looked so pretty!!! And, your Mommy and Daddy were beaming with pride!

Baby Denny is ONE!

Yes, I’ve been seriously absent from my blog – but, I’m working on getting back up to speed! Trying to get my mojo back – so much to catch up on! So many images, so little time!!!

And, while I’ve been away, little Denny managed to turn 1 already! Seriously, where does the time go? Here’s just a BRIEF sneak peek at a couple of his park pictures from our session yesterday!
I had another session today with Baby Natalie (also one – OMG!) and she was all smiles – so those will be coming soon!
For now though, enjoy a few of Denny and I promise not to be gone so long this time!
Smiles to all!!!

Bluebonnets!!!

My favorite time of year – when Spring returns and the bluebonnets bloom all over Texas! It’s one of the things that made me fall in love with this state. Well, that, and my hubby’s sweet Southern drawl! I’m a sucker for a drawl y’all (just don’t overdo it). Today I went in search of bluebonnet fields and found a couple. Of course, taking my kids is always interesting. For being photographer’s kids, you’d think they’d have this stuff down by now. NOPE! They are by far my toughest subjects.

Enjoy the view! Happy Spring to everyone! And, if you want bluebonnet pictures, call me SOON!
